Not your usual slips, trips and falls training!

Many have suffered through videos designed more to shift blame than improve safety, lumping two entirely different fall mechanics together and offering classic advice like "clear up spillages swiftly".  If the best way to prevent a slip was through spot cleaning and yellow signs we suspect that slip accidents wouldn't be nearly as common as they are.
We do things differently.  Combating a dry technical field by avoiding 'death by powerpoint' as much as possible, with hands-on practicals and a conversational approach.  We're here to answer the questions you have about slips in your particular industry or environment.  We recognise sessions can be quite intense in terms of technical detail and learning new skills, so we are always happy to answer any questions that may crop up after the session.  We also ensure all those attending have the reference materials needed to jog their memory.
Our trainer has years of experience of slip risk assessment in the field (and in providing training) and regularly gives evidence in slip personal injury claims.  He has been responsible for the training of several operators to UKAS-accredited 17025 requirements.
This isn't a tick box exercise, but an investment that provides you or your staff with in-depth knowledge and the training records to demonstrate it.

Training Courses

When conducting a test where the results will only ever be as good as the operator, and the results of tests will likely come under scrutiny if a fall does happen, competence is crucial.  We offer training courses tailored specifically to your requirements to ensure you or your staff are equipped with the knowledge to conduct testing to the latest British Standard and UK Slip Resistance Group Guidelines.

Pendulum Operator Training

Everything you need to know to conduct a competent Pendulum test to UK standards.  Suitable for those who have never conducted a test, or those seeking to refresh their understanding and maybe learn something new.  Certificate of attendance provided, along with training and reference material to help in the field.

Slip Risk Assessment Training

A Pendulum Test Value does not a slip risk assessment make...   This course is suited for those interested in looking beyond PTV's and deeper in to the contributory factors in slipping accidents.  Suitable for both competent test operators and those in a risk management role looking to manage not just measure risk.  Certificate of attendance provided, along with training and reference material to help in the field.

Training tailored to you

We offer sessions physically (at your location or ours) or virtually.  Whilst the former is generally an easier and more relaxed approach, the latter means we can provide support to those further afield and overseas.  It is worth noting however, that whilst we have a working knowledge of slip testing standards around the world, the training offered is based in UK regulation.
Sessions are approximately 3hrs and cater for up to 4 attendees.  We can provide all necessary equipment for the training or we can use your own equipment, as suits.
There is currently no accredited competency qualification for the topics covered.  A certificate of attendance at a relevant training course from a reputable provider can present good evidence of competence however, as part of a wider training record and comparative blind testing.
If you have a requirement not covered by the current courses but still in a slip-related field then let us know, we may still be able to help.
